Supermodel Sessilee Lopez Returned
to Receive "Trailblazer Award"
Evoluer House benefit recognized West Philly-born fashion star
Sessilee Lopez accepting The Evoluer House "Trailblazer Award" in recognition of the grace, dignity and style she has displayed as a pioneering model in the fashion industry, and for her perseverance against the odds to make an indelible and historical mark and on the fashion world.
Philadelphia-born supermodel Sessilee Lopez, who has appeared in Vogue Italia, New York Times Style Magazine and Harper’s Bazaar, returned to her hometown Friday, December 13th, when she received The Evoluer House 2013 "Trailblazer Award."
Lopez’s recognition was be part of J’adore la Mode (I Love Fashion) gala, at University of the Arts, which supports the work of award-winning, youth development non-profit organization The Evoluer House.
Lopez, of Dominican, Portuguese, Cuban and African-American roots, was born in West Philadelphia. She received her big break in 2005 when she landed a contract with Calvin Klein's CK One fragrance. By Fall of that year, she was walking in such international shows, as Zac Posen, Karl Lagerfeld, and Emporio Armani.
“We are thrilled to be able to recognize Sessilee with The Evoluer House 2013 Trailblazer Award,” executive director Cheryl Ann Wadlington said. “Sessilee has accomplished what so many young girls dream of accomplishing. And she’s done it with dignity, grace and style.”
